  • Expedited Production Processing

Why Choose Us ?

Extruder blades are the precision "scissors" of the extrusion pelletizing line. They must precisely mate with the die plate in a harsh environment of high speed, high temperature, and high wear to efficiently and stably convert molten material into high-quality pellets. Material selection, geometric design, manufacturing precision, and operational maintenance are all crucial, directly impacting production efficiency and product quality. Our blades are highly wear-resistant and rarely break, with a lifespan 3 to 5 times that of other blades.

Pelletizer Knife Materials: D2, M2, and Tungsten Carbide

Selecting the right steel grade is the most consequential specification decision when ordering a pelletizer knife. Each grade offers a distinct balance of hardness, toughness, and service life:

D2 tool steel (HRC 58–62): High chromium content delivers strong wear resistance with moderate toughness. The standard choice for PE, PP, and ABS recycling lines at moderate throughput. Best value for general-purpose plastic pelletizing.

M2 high-speed steel (HRC 62–65): Superior red-hardness maintains edge integrity on high-speed lines and with abrasive-filled compounds such as glass-fiber or mineral-filled masterbatch. Longer service life offsets the higher material cost in demanding applications.

Tungsten carbide YG12 (approx. 1400 HV): Maximum wear resistance for the most abrasive environments — recycled PVC, carbon-black-filled masterbatch, or high-filler-content compounds. Service life is three to five times that of tool steel grades in these conditions.

Not sure which grade fits your line? Send us your die plate drawing or a worn knife sample and our technical team will recommend the correct specification within 24 hours.

Compatible Pelletizing Lines and Processed Materials

YISHI pelletizer knives are manufactured to match die plate geometries for major pelletizing systems including Davis-Standard, Automatik, Gala, Maag, and Erema recycling lines. Available outer diameters span OD 160 mm to OD 610 mm. Inner diameters of 25.4 mm, 32 mm, and 38 mm cover the majority of commercial pelletizing heads. Knife edge angle is 45° as standard and can be adjusted to your specific requirement.

Materials processed include:

  • Polyethylene (LDPE, HDPE, LLDPE) and Polypropylene
  • PVC, ABS, Nylon, and engineering polymers
  • Rubber and EVA compounds
  • Glass-fiber and mineral-filled masterbatch
  • Recycled film, foam, and rigid post-consumer scrap

Single-edge and double-edge configurations are both available. Blade thickness ranges from 0.8 mm to 1.5 mm; non-standard dimensions are produced to your drawing or sample.

How to Order Custom Pelletizer Knives

Submit your die plate drawing, a worn knife sample, or your OEM part number. We confirm material, geometry, dimensional tolerances, and lead time within 24 hours. Standard production lead time is 15–20 working days from drawing approval. Expedited production is available for urgent requirements — contact our sales team to confirm current capacity. All orders are shipped door-to-door via DHL, FedEx, or UPS with full parcel tracking.
