OEM-compatible packaging cutters

Packaging Machine Knives We Manufacture

YISHI manufactures precision packaging machine knives for cutting film, foil, paper, and laminates on vertical form-fill-seal (VFFS), horizontal form-fill-seal (HFFS), flow wrap, pouch, and carton converting lines. Blades are produced from D2, M2, SKD11, and tungsten carbide grades, vacuum heat-treated to HRC 58–62 for edge retention and impact resistance. Dimensional tolerances are held to ±0.01 mm on critical surfaces, with surface finishes down to Ra 0.2 µm for clean cuts and reduced adhesive buildup. Every knife is supplied with a material certificate and inspection report.

Take a Closer Look

  • VFFS Bagging Lines

Straight and serrated knives for cross-cutting and sealing jaw stations on vertical form-fill-seal machines processing PE, PP, and laminated films at speeds up to 120 bags/min.

  • HFFS Flow Wrapping

Circular slitting blades and cut-off knives for horizontal flow wrap machines used in bakery, confectionery, and medical device packaging.

  • Pouch and Stick Pack Machines

Perforation blades and notch knives for easy-open features on stick packs and sachets, with precise tear propagation control.

  • Carton Converting

Slotting blades and creasing knives for corrugated box printer-slotter machines, made from D2 or HSS for long runs in recycled board.

  • Label and Tape Slitting

Circular shear slitting blades for pressure-sensitive adhesive tapes and label stock, with polished edges to prevent adhesive buildup.

  • Foil and Lidding Film Cutting

Tungsten carbide knives for cutting aluminum foil lidding and blister pack films, maintaining edge sharpness through abrasive oxide layers.

Why Choose Yishi

YISHI operates in-house vacuum heat treatment and cryogenic processing to achieve precise hardness profiles without distortion. All blades are ground on CNC machines with automatic wheel dressing to maintain consistent edge geometry across production batches. We provide material certificates and dimensional inspection reports as standard. Custom knives are manufactured from customer drawings or OEM part numbers with no minimum order quantity, and prototypes are delivered within 10 working days.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What steel grade is best for cutting LDPE film?

D2 (Cr12MoV) at HRC 58-60 is commonly used for LDPE films up to 100 µm. For thinner films or high-speed lines, M2 HSS offers better edge retention. Provide film thickness and machine speed for a specific recommendation.

  • Can you match the dimensions of my existing Bosch packaging knife?

Yes. Send us the OEM part number or a dimensional drawing, and we will manufacture a replacement knife to the same specifications, including mounting hole positions and edge bevel angles.

  • What is the typical lead time for custom packaging knives?

Standard custom orders ship within 15 working days. Prototype orders for testing can be expedited to 7–10 working days depending on complexity.

  • Do you offer coatings for packaging knives?

We apply TiN (titanium nitride) and CrN (chromium nitride) PVD coatings to reduce friction and adhesive pickup. Coated blades are recommended for high-speed lines running sticky films or hot-melt adhesives.

  • What hardness range do you recommend for serrated blades?

Serrated blades are typically hardened to HRC 56–58 to balance edge sharpness with impact toughness. For abrasive materials, we can increase to HRC 60–62 using M2 steel.

  • How do I measure my existing knife for a replacement?

Provide the overall length, width, thickness, hole diameter and center distance, and edge angle. A photo or sketch with dimensions is sufficient for quotation.

  • Can you supply knives for intermittent-motion VFFS machines?

Yes, we manufacture knives for both continuous and intermittent-motion machines. Specify the machine model and cutting station for correct blade design.
